EDINBURG — Texas Southmost College Men's Soccer added four players on Monday, May 19th while also adding another the week prior.
The Scorpions signed Jesus Torres and Francisco Reyes from IDEA Toros as well as Nestor Estrada and Adrian Prado from Brownsville Rivera on Monday after grabbing the signature of Harlingen High's Carlos Garcia last week.
Torres and Reyes are eager to join the Scorpions and were scouted extensively during friendly matches when their developmental side clashed with the junior college recently, Men's head coach
Mario Zamora said.
"Every time we play Toros we have a look at what they have to offer, so we can bring them to TSC and both of them caught our attention in those games. We invited them to visit the campus, talk to their parents and it was a done deal," Zamora said.
Reyes plays striker and Torres can play multiple forward-minded positions on the pitch.
Zamora was at Brownsville Rivera earlier in the day to sign two more players from one of the best programs in the Valley. Nestor Estrada and Adrian Prado joins TSC after standing out for the Raiders.
"Rivera has always been a great soccer program in the Valley," Zamora said. "We had great success with one of their players the past two years. I am very happy to sign Nestor and Adrian."
Estrada is a goalkeeper while Prado plays as a defender or midfielder.
Harlingen High had a strong last few seasons and has also had players sign with TSC. The Scorpions added another by signing Carlos Garcia.
The squad is almost filled out for the Scorpions as their focus will soon shift to preparing for the 25' season.
